*New in 2024, the California Amateur is an official USGA Exemption Event. The Champion will earn an automatic exemption into the 2024 U.S. Amateur Championship.
CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT:
156 players will play two rounds of stroke play.
Monday, June 24: Round 1 (18 holes, stroke play)
Tuesday, June 25: Round 2 (18 holes, stroke play).
Following the second round, the field will be cut to the low 32 players for match play.
Wednesday, June 26: Round of 32 (match play)
Thursday, June 27: Round of 16 (match play)
Friday, June 28: Quarterfinals & Semifinals (match play)
Saturday, June 29: Championship Match (36-hole match play final)
All non-exempt players will participate in an 18-hole, stroke-play qualifying round. Qualifying is available statewide for NCGA and SCGA Players. (Players may only attempt to qualify once.)

Monday, May 20: The Reserve at Spanos Park, Stockton
Friday, May 24: Riverside GC, Fresno
Monday, June 3: The Club at Crazy Horse Ranch, Salinas
Golf Carts will not be permitted at the qualifiers or championship proper. The NCGA/SCGA will use United States Golf Association guidelines in determining cart exemptions for ADA-approved disabilities.
ELIGIBILITY: This championship is open to amateur golfers who are members of a current NCGA or SCGA member club with a Handicap Index of 4.4 or less at the time of registration.
EXEMPTIONS: All exempt players must still meet eligibility requirements and register online for the championship before the entry closing date. The current list of exemptions can be found online by clicking here.

ENTRY DEADLINE: Sunday, April 28, 2024
EXEMPT PLAYER ENTRY FEE: $250
INFORMATION & PAIRINGS: Complete tournament details, including information about practice rounds, pairings, starting times, and yardages played, will be emailed and posted online after entries close.
LATE ENTRIES: Late entries will be accepted, assuming space is still available at the given event. Late entries will be subject to an additional $20 fee and can only be processed over the phone or through email.
REFUND POLICY: Requests for refunds prior to the entry closing date will be honored less a $20 administrative fee. Requests received after the entry closing date and 48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.
